"

『となりのトトロ』という作品があります。
宮崎駿が頑張って作りましたよね。
しかし、いちばん最初に宮さんが作った原案では、
映画のファーストカットから
トトロがいきなり登場していたんです。

最初から大活躍なんですよ。
コンテを見ていたら、全編、大活躍なんです。
宮さんに「鈴木さん、どう？」って聞かれて、
ぼくはパッと答えにくくて、顔が曇ったんですね。

「鈴木さん、どうしたの？」

「‥‥いや、ふつう、こういう生きものは、
　まんなかへんから出てくるもんじゃないかなぁ」

「なんで？」
